Northern Pecan Tree

Northern Pecan from a farm near Winfield Iowa that has grown these trees for a very long time. The nuts are thin shelled and can be cracked in the palm of your hand. The nut meat is delicious, rich, buttery. Great in baking, salads, trail mixes and for eating fresh. 

Hardy to zone 5b and unsure about any farther north. I grow them in a 5ft tree tube to keep deer off. Have had some grow over 5 ft tall by the 2nd season after being planted. Trees are in 4x4x9 inch pots. See plantig instructions here:How to Plant a Potted Tree

Please plan on transporting your trees inside the cab of a vehicle- they will not do will do well in an open truck bed.
