Spring 2026 Grafting Classes

Come learn how to graft apples, pears, pawpaws and persimmons. We will be "Top-Working", which means grafting new varieties onto rootstocks and seedlings that are already established in the ground.

We will focus on Cleft and Bark grafting techniques and a variety of ways to use both.

The class will take place outside in the orchards of Olivia's Orchard. Be prepared for weather, mud, walking over rough terrain and primitive toileting facility. Grafting requires the use of a very sharp knife and can be dangerous.

With a cap at 5 participants per class, each person will get lots of practice and 1:1 time. You will leave the class ready to go home and graft your own fruit trees. There will be rootstocks and extra scion available for purchase at the end of class.

When you sign up you will receive a grafting supply list. Feel free to bring your own knife and pruners.

Suggested tuition $40.
